Good Charlotte- Good Charlotte Review
Little Things: This song makes more sense to me than the concept of sliced bread. To me its saying that all the shit you go through in high school may seem like its horrible and huge at the moment, but in the long run, its really not a big deal. They really are just little things. I love the vid to; it just seems to fit the personality of the song.
Waldorf Worldwide: I love it. Its like fuck you, we can make it even if you dont think so. The first part seems like theyre such simple requests. And theyve come true for the guys havent they?
The Motivation Proclamation: Dude, I fucking love this song. Its saved my ass on more than one account. I love the beats and the vibe it gives out. Seriously, I love it more than you can possibly understand. It really has helped me through some hard times.
East Coast Anthem: I feel like this song was written for me. This is exactly how my parents feel about me, (or so it seems). They want me to be perfect and preppy like my older sister and they fail to understand that Im not them and I never really was. Its totally given me the courage to be myself and to not care what other people think. NEVER BE AFRAID TO BE YOURSELF!!
Festival Song: Once again, I feel very close to this song. Refusing the life of desk jobs, thats the way for me. Do what you love to do and stay the hell off the conveyor belt!
Complicated: I like this song. It took me a little while, then it just kinda clicked. Its got a freakin awesome beat to it. Its original and all. Oh yea, and anyone who could even think about doing this to their family should burn a long and painful death in the depths of hell!
The Click: I love this song so much. I have found a click to call my own, thats high school for yea. Its when you find out who you really are, and this song just makes you happy to be yourself and happy to be in the group that you are.
Change: I cry every time I hear this. Me and my friend sat in English class and bawled for something like 20 minutes. It was horrible, but I love the song so much, it was totally worth it. If someone sang it to me, I honestly think I would jump them right then and there. Its so beautiful!
Thank You Mum: This is such a pretty song, and its so real. The brutality of this song is amazing and makes me want to say sorry to my mum for every shitty thing Ive done in my life. I just want to thank GC (Benji and Joel lyric wise) right here and now for making such honest music. Thats why I have so much respect for these guys, its brutally honest and so powerful. Their not ashamed of the poverty and being beat up in high school for simply being themselves, they just take it and turn it into something amazing. Theyve realized that they wouldnt be where they are now if it werent for all the shit they went through. They made it and now theyre helping others make it too.
Good Charlotte-The Young and Hopeless Review
The Anthem: Once again, this song was written for people just like me. Ive recently realized that I dont want to be like the rest of the world. I dont want to be controlled by people for the rest of my life. I'd rather scrape by doing what I love, than be well off and miserable.
Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous: I just think this song is hilarious. It's so true too! People with money say that its so difficult. Honestly, what's so hard about it; picking which mansion would best accent you're current hair color?
Boys and Girls: Another true song by GC. People in todays society are so shallow and what it all inevitably comes down to in this world is looks and money. If you're hot, you get the guy; you have money, you get the girl.
My Bloody Valentine: This song is so morbid, but still, it manages to have humor. All I can picture when I hear this is some deranged high school English student who took some tips from Edgar Allen Poe. It's a great one. (I hope they make a vid for it, I totally picture Benji as the lead role.)
Hold On: The first time I heard this I was about to do something really dumb, then I just started to listen to the words and I realized that it would get better. I just had to wait a little longer and all would be well. And it's true; things eventually got better, so thank you to GC for this one, it's a keeper!
The Day I Die: I'm just curious what the inspiration for this song was.
Emotionless: Oh my goodness. I have never in my life heard such a powerful song. How Benji and Joel can sing this and not burst into tears is truly beyond me. "Do you think about youre sons, Do you miss you're little girl," That part kills me. I just cry and cry when I hear that. It's such a beautiful and powerful song. And despite the title, it's action packed with emotion, otherwise it wouldn't touch people the way that it does.
Moving On: This song just gives me hope for the future. It gives me faith that other people feel the same way I do.
Big note to Benji and Joel (and the rest of GC) here!
Thank you for doing what you are doing. You've helped so many people through your music and will hopefully continue to do so for many years to come. Y'all've lived fucked up lives like the rest of the world and thats what makes you easy to connect with. People with perfect families and childhoods are spited by the vast majority of the world, whereas you are praised and sympathized with because of your imperfections. Thanks.
